Alcohol Detox

Following an assessment of your health needs, alcohol history, any previous detoxes and support during the procedure, I will  plan and arrange your detox in a safe and comfortable way.

The Process:

This could involve liaising with your GP to see if they are willing to provide a small variety of medications to help reduce withdrawal effects and may include daily injections of high potency vitamins. You must have a responsible person with you during your detox.

I will arrange collection of your medication and stay with you throughout the first day of detox to ensure you are safe and comfortable. For the remainder of your detox, I will visit you daily to supervise the process and offer support for you and your Support. You will also be offered Auricular Acupuncture.

Detox usually takes 5-7 days to complete and it is advised you find support to help you maintain abstinence.

The final decision to offer detox will remain with us which will be dependent on the risk assessment to ensure appropriateness and safety.
